Make gold drops pickable just walking near them. This was a feature in TL I like really much, and it wouldn't be too embarassing to implement it here. In multiplayer the gold in dealt equally between party members (to avoid fast running buggers taking all gold).

I like that gold should be picked up when near it or even a slightly larger distance away.
If there's individual loot per player then there won't be any need to split gold drops because it will be random per player.
Or gold could be a cross-over item in the system that is available to all players and then split between them.

Salt or iron drop is a nice idea. New currency activated in Grim Dawn. :)

Well even salt and iron could be picked up this way, only if they don't take inventory space.

Automatic pickup of salt and iron is a great idea. Picking up gold in TQ became an annoyance before it finally became entirely unnecessary.

Only, if they were materials in crafting recipes - auto pickup would be defeatist in multi-player. I would not like to see this feature in that case.

Good clarification -- I didn't consider multiplayer since I almost never participate in it. Anyway, the default option in single-player could be 'active' and for multiplayer it could be 'inactive'.

We're getting generic "gold" in this game? No special name for it?

to the suggestion: "Make gold drops pickable just walking near them",
If there will be a lot of very small amounts of coins (monsters give not big amounts of gold) I vote "Yes". It could be very annoying to have to pick all those small gold drops, and that is time you are not killing monsters, not selling items, not studing and building your character...
But if there will be big amounts of gold (or salt, iron or anything) droped, then i prefer to pick them one by one without that feature, like in TQ, because it is like a reward too, same way i like to pick by myself a powerful item droped by a monster.

Posted my response here so we'd have it in the feature section. :)
