PART 1
this is going to have parts so dont freek, my 1st idea is with the classes comes a new look. like a demon class turns the person demon.

PART 2
like in d2 if the classes have 3 different skill types, this class would make a little more sense.

PART 3
emo and goth, both dark. they can controll darkness, altho goth is rageful emo is sadness. i think emo=caster and goth=combat would work out.

PART 4
skills, i can only think of one but im sure u will think of one or two.
READYNESS: sense emos cut them self, they are les damaged from attacks sense they are ready for the pain.

p.s. i wrote all of this on my DSI so it would be diferent if i was on my computer.

Lol, sorry couldn't help myself that is reference to the comic book The Darkness which is bad ass. They should make a class based off that, it would be awesome.

Lets modify this so it fits better with the persona that is Grim Dawn.

Class Name: Dark Soul
Class Trees: The Tormented("emo"), The Wretched("goth")

The Tormented use body lacerations in order to channel the darkness in such away as to be able to cast it towards their enemies. Depending on the carvings into their own flesh will determine the types of casts that can be done. They take small damage from their own attacks but have a higher health regeneration rate out of combat.

Skills:
Dark Spear: The player casts a spear of pure darkness at the target.

Blood Needles: The player using his/her blood mixes it with the darkness. Hundreds of spikes shoot up around the player dealing damage to enemies in range.

Void Defense: A small forcefield is created out of the darkness negating a small amount of damage.

Blood Dance: In a trance the player creates an AOE at target that causes the enemies to attack each other for a short time.

The Wretched infuse their weapons and armor with the darkness. Higher dodge rate, light weapons/armor are mostly used but toughened by the darkness. Mostly buffs and auras with minimal offensive casting.

Skills:
Dark Thorns: Exactly what you think it is, thorns made from the darkness. Enemies take damage every time they hit the player.

Shadow Meld: Increases dodge rate.

Dark Poison: The weapons are infused with the darkness allowing it to enter into your enemies upon striking. This causes small damage over time.

Swift of the Night: Increases the groups movement speed.

White Moon: In the light of the white moon the group is given greater defense.

Red Moon: In the light of the red moon the group is given increased health.

Black Moon: In the light of the black moon the group is given greatly increased damage.

dresenpai - I like your ideas. But I don't see the necessity to create skill trees. That hasn't been in TQ and will not be in GD (afaik). The strength of the dual masteries is to be free in your choice of skills and to create unusual builds. But for sheer curiosity: aj99, what would be the third tree?

Well I was simply assisting aj99 flesh out the idea but I do agree that skill trees are not needed. With that said though, the two skill trees could easily be adapted into their own class as that is pretty much what I was doing with it. :p

As for the third option, isn't it obvious? Scene Kid.

also i am backing you up on no trees, and they should be one class, (BTW, im NOT on my DSI right now) but... one small thing...

DARKNESS SHOULD BE BASED ON CREATURES/MORPHING

My thouts
for emo (caster) dark somonings, somons 2 creaturs of darkness to do the masters dirty work! (creatures change with each skill point).

for goth (melee) Pitch Black Soul, turns the goth into the worst creaturs ever,
THE WENDIGO, and for those who doont know what a wendigo is, go to google images and type wendigo, for info listen up, a wendigo is a humon gone canibal that wears a deer skull on its head, has 4 arms (2 OMG BIG, 2 normal) has sharp teeth and makes shrines of its killings (hangs up there skin as well) and has wolf like legs, can grow to be 12 foot and be 250 lb.

ALSO ON A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT NOTE, i think the masterys should have a song when you enter the class, like the darkness would be heavy metal, and hunting should have more hunting class music to go with it, kewl enough for you? :cool:

Or it could be like TQ and just have a sound effect on it? Like swords clashing, thunder rumbling, or arrows firing.

Thats pretty different from what it seemed like you presented at first lol. Would seem my suggestions don't fit with your original idea. :p
