I had seen that one first while watching the reports from this years E3 - and then forgotten about it again.

But it seems to be coming out early next year:
http://huntedthegame.com

It's done by inXile Entertainment - founded by Brian Fargo, whose former company Interplay (The Bard's Tale) kind of got destroyed by EA.

As he said himself - after the troubles with EA and the breakdown of Interplay he felt like beeing in exile - hence the name of his new company.

Seems like inXile has been doing mostly stupid iPhone games until now - presumably trying to secure some budget and stay more independent from publishers - as many Developers do when they start from scratch with a new company after their last hat been devoured by some big publisher.

But now they belong to Betheseda, and are working on a big budget title again - which (according to them) is going to be an action orientend "reimagining" of those dungeon crawlers of olde.

looks good, and I remember Interplay, they made some very good stuff, and yes, EA destroyed them, like many others, EA haven't a clue now when it comes to supporting decent companies like the above, they do seem to have a good (or should that be bad?) track record of killing some of the finest developer houses, so many have fallen to this horrible publisher,

as for the new game, I personally hope EA don't acquire it, as they will only mess it up or kill it in its prime, or mess up the comapny so bad, they will be forced to close, EA doesn't know how to support the decent stuff anymore, instead you getting games that are dumbed down, Dragon age 2, I think fits that well) amongst other games, sure they announced mess effect 3, but more of the same I think,

anyway, this new game Hunted looks interesting, fingers crossed it will be worth playing, and hopefully they will go on to make more games, and fingers doubly crossed, EA don't buy them out or shut them down, with EA's track recrod, that is what they will do if given half a chance

Oh, I believe EA perfectly knows what they are doing, and they are pretty darn good at it.

They exploit developers and rip off gamers, to produce maximum shareholder profits with minimum risk. That's just what any big company is all about.

Hunted does look promisingly different - I think it's a nice touch to bring back in some gameplay elements taken from old-school dungeon crawlers.

I'm still not entirely sold on that game, since I don't know anything about the skill-system and character-development yet. The game is also supposed to appeal to the shooter player crowd. It features cover based, fast-paced third-person combat - which I think is a great idea.

But I can't help myself - I somehow got the feeling that skill trees and character-development will be rather shallow. Just a gut feeling though.

I am really looking forward to for quite a while now. I like that it is going to be coop-orientated right from the beginning.
It is very very likely that I will get it with a friend and play it. Unfortunately it will be short (about 15h) but supporting studios is always nice especially when they make an interesting game.
