View Full Version : Greetings. Has there been any news on registering pre-load key on Steam?

I know the FAQ says that it's not guaranteed yet, but I am wondering if there are any updates. I am quite a fan of Titan Quest, and I am proud to say that I helped out with the CD Key problem in the Canadian version.

I would love to pre-order Grim Dawn right now, but I do love to have my games in Steam. And if I cannot register the pre-order key on Steam, I'll probably be a lot more reluctant to preorder at this time.

So devs, nothing on this yet?

Given that there is a post for the Grim Dawn Steam Group (http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=993) which has been set up, I'm guessing your wish will come true ;)

There are still no guarantees at this point.

If you absolutely require Steam, the best thing to do is wait.

Thanks for the answer.

However, I will probably purchase the $50 Legendary Edition and the $20 Steam edition.

Haha! Was just today wondering about the same problem, I love my games on Steam, but... So I bought a Legendary Edition now and will probably end up buying the Steam version just to get it from there. (Steam games on portable HDD -> never have to reinstall a game. woot!)

Just wanted to add small voice that doesn't want to see the game tied to SteamWorks. It keeps other vendors from carrying a title that is so bound to Valve's storefront client.

So, for me, yay for having it available through Steam. And GamersGate, and Impulse, and maybe even D2D and any other DD or B&M store you can place it. And, Boo, if you go with SteamWorks.

What are you talking about? You are wrong.

Other digital distribution services and retail stores are absolutely carry Steamworks games.

Retail stores will carry games that have steamworks enabled. However, digital distribution platforms may not.

eg: Impulse will not carry any game which is bound to Steamworks.

The vast majority of DD platforms do sell Steamworks titles. It's not a valid reason not to implement Steamworks IMO.
