I suppose I should have asked this question before I bought the Legendary edition :p, but I just assumed Grim Dawn would use the same wonderful point & click controls that Titan Quest used.

So does anybody know what the controls will be like in Grim Dawn? Because I really, really hate WASD controls! And I just can't play any game that uses them.

Can anybody reassure me? Will Grim Dawn play like Titan Quest?

Do you really need assurance?

It will be TQ's. No WASD.

I pray you're right Alexei!

I've just bought Hellgate:London and I'm so cheesed off by the horrible controls and dreadful 'seasick inducing' camera. I thought it would be like Diablo (cause it was made by ex Diablo developers) but I was very wrong.

It just goes to show, never assume anything .

btw in Hellgate you can zoom out iirc. Maybe that helps.
And yes the Devs said that wasd will not be in GD. Normal point&click&slay. ;)

Perfect! I was hoping Crate would stick to their tried and true formular, but you never know. Thanks a lot for allaying my fears Harlequin.

I know, I've posted about this also. I'll miss not having WASD.

I like how it works in Sacred2. Even if it was just Forward, Back, Rotate Camera right left I would be ok! :)

Either Way though, I'll be ok. I lived/oops Freudian slip? (loved) TQ.

It's kinda sad that Grim Dawn can't have both, cause I know there are lots of people who prefer WASD controls.

So just as long as they never scrap good old point & click, I wouldn't mind at all if they added WASD controls to the game.

Then everybody is happy :D

I always hated WASD just because I'm left handed so I'm hoping for similar controls too. Good old point n click!! :)

I am lefthanded as well but I am handling the Mouse with my right because thats how I started. My handling sucks (especially in fps) but my WASD movement is awesome.^^

Again heres another lefty, but I use my left hand (even bought myself the left handed mouse). The best thing to do is to move your controls to PL;'
Point and click is the best for this game IMO as its enjoyable like that.

Hellgate London has excellent controls, you guys need to advance to the 21st Century. Start playing a blademaster and get used to the various attacks, spins, jump attacks, etc, and you will see how visceral the control scheme is. In fact, I think they nailed the 3rd person combat action, and graphics, better than any game to date. It sounds like you just aren't used to that control scheme and measure everything by ye olde point and click... which is fine, but overrated if you ask me. Take two cents and do with as you wish. But I for one enjoy wasd control schemes.

I gotta say, the one thing I wanted in TQ was optional WASD controls, with a optional rotatable camera. I easily adjusted to left click for movement, and it was just as enjoyable as any game though. However I myself downloaded the rotation camera mod, so it'd be nice to see a wider variety of camera controls in Grim Dawn.

Off Topic though... Why were the backs of the models, buildings, stalls, and mountains etc., actually made in TQ? If we couldn't initially rotate our camera, it seems to me that was a big no no in optimization for a game.

WSAD is the norm in so many games these days that I'd forgotten how nice and easy point-n-click really was until I started playing TQ again.

I never used WSAD anyway. Really can't get on with those keys. I'm an arrow key man (probably shows my age!) with Return for jump, R-Shift for sprint, R-CTRL for crouch, Delete is usually something like grenades and End is also mapped to something. Mouse wheel click is usually Use. I cannot stand having no room around the 4 movement keys. I tried to re-train myself into WSAD but I gave up before throwing the keyboard out the window.
