Meh, I played a trial of it and it was "ok". Probably won't get back into it, not much of an MMO player.

Yeah it just went free recently (maybe today?)...basically there's no level restrictions or anything but certain higher end content is locked out, and you other soft limits like character slots, chat limitations, ect.
See here for details:

I tried the demo too years backs, it was ok I guess. I just got done with WoW so maybe was a little burned out from MMO's. I thought it was definitely one of the better trials I played though.

Hmm. Free download at everything too. I doubt I'll play it though, after getting addicted to WoW for 2 years.

I might give it a go.... look for My Precioussss and all.... I have been seriously considering giving Age of Conan a go, but maybe I'll try this free one first :)

Squid, I suggest AoC over this. This game was OK, it had that very generic MMO feel to it, however the classes were kinda unique and fun.
AoC on the other hand was an exceptional MMO, if you love gore, more complex combos, etc, AoC is the one you want.
Don't want to disagree with ASYLUM101 but sadly I have too ;).
I find Lotro still better than AoC. I found that AoC had quiet a lack of content. Don't really know if it still is the case after the latest addon but just before the addon was released I had given them a second chance but still it couldn't convince me. Also the combos ASYLUM101 is refering too are nice for pve but in pvp they mostly impossible to execute. But it's something different from other mmo's.
In the end it comes down to own taste.

I tried this once and the server was empty... no players running around in town! (maybe 1 or 3)
But since it's now free, the servers might be more populated.
