Here is a shot from atop one of the unique locations rising out of the swamps surrounding devil's crossing. It is a dramatic geologic formation with some interesting inhabitants at the top but more on that later. ;)

I've always loved how spots like this look in isometric games. Like at the Spartan camp in TQ. Or the top of Mount Areat (however you spell in?) in D2:LOD. There were actually lots of them in TQ, come to think of it. This looks better better than any of those, much better!

Yep, it does. Only with a flat head. The rare Flat Headed Moose Mountain. :D

...trying to catch up with my own pool of drool, which is currently starting to drip-drop down a 100-feet free fall to the swamps.
And, oddly, i really dig the little detail of the rock as it slopes down. It looks really harsh and just... perfect!

This looks awesome! Great work as always.
Any way we can put an adoring fan ala Oblivion up there so we can enjoy knocking him off the cliff over and over again? That's hours of entertainment right there. You could even add a little X on the ground below to try to get him to land as close as possible to it? I think that would up the replayability even more.

First of all: Nice screen!
Second: Okay we see something that we didnt see in TQ (afaik):
Dunno the proper word but I think "overhang" is the right word.
In TQ it was not possible to have pathable area (except for bridges)
above your head. So will it be possible to make small caves that are not your old TQ-Grid-Caves? Hm I hope you understand what I mean?

Didn't they do it for TQ?
Anyway I don't think thats interesting. Many games with those cicles do those videos. It's nice to see but I'd rather see situations in the video that are actually going to happen.
Of course it would be an super-awesome bossfight where they day-night-cicle runs by...like in some crazy magician/demon who is playing with time and you can only hurt him at night...damn that'd be awesome.

Not interesting?!?! Well, a gameplay video would be more interesting than a tech demo, but for that we will have to wait longer.
We won't be releasing a trailer or anything of that magnitude though. As Assylum suggested, we will start by releasing a bunch of small clips over time that show things like the weather system, destructible objects, environments, small clips of combat, etc. Bits and pieces of the game are looking really nice but overall the game is still unfinished and unpolished, so a long continuous video of gameplay wouldn't look as good.

Did you edit the overhang before taking the second shot? Or are my eyes fooling me? If you open both screens in separate tabs and close all other tabs, then you can quickly CTRL-TAB between them. It looks (to me) that tip of the overhang bends a little to the right on the daylight screen.

I saved them and cycled back and forth really quickly. It is kind of deceiving, but I think it's just the way the mist and shadows affect it. That dynamic weather is going to be something else when buttstroking zombies in the early morning mist!
The more I look at that helm, the more I like it. It looks to me like it should be called the "Spiky Braincage"... but I'm sure the devs have come up with something way more awesome! Right?
Looking Awesome as Usual, keep those screenies coming please :D
I like the detailed plants on the side. I hope they move around like in TQ. I love that effect.. walking through those farm areas in the long sun-dried grass and it all moves as you walk through. That is awesome.

Nice shots. I can't wait to show some of my closest... umm.. friends the edge of that cliff. Right before I knock them off of it that is.
Oh, and please give me a grappling hook skill to grab their loot with while they fall. No need for good loot to go to waste with them.

Did I miss that GD would have time based effects? Does this lead to time related quests? Only finding someone at a specified spot a a specific time? Stores open and closing?

Are you guys using different particle shaders than were used in TQ? The effects on that sword are soooo cool, the shaders looks almost completely different than those from TQ.
