Hello!

I have been playing Iron Lore's (Crate Entertaiment's) games after I found a dusty, alone, Titan Quest & Immortal Throne-pack for 3€ from a random shop (can't remember the name). Installed it to both computers, and started to play LAN with friends, and after completing it like 10 times now, I can completely remember the Titan Quest's quests and main story (not IT's), so I am a big fan, and I found out Grim Dawn after sending a message at Iron Lore's site that is there coming Titan Quest 2 or something.

I have always been a big lover of RPG games, specially Action RPG. I love Titan Quest, and other games like that, because I can play them with my friends, and lead them to great adventures, and Grim Dawn sounds amazing.

I a lot of experience of all kinds of RPG games. I have played Borderlands, Diablo 1, 2, and probably 3 when it's going to be released, all kinds of roguelikes (Nethack etc.), Avernum, Eschalon 1 and 2, Ultimas, Neverwinter Nights (1 and 2), Dungeon Siege (1 and 2), TQ + TQ IT, dozens of Flash-rpgs,
Pokemons, Zelda (I think it's adventure...), more than 20 MMORPGs (Perfect World, Epic Duel, Guild Wars, Champions Online, Maple Story, browser based games), Dragon Ages, Fallout 1, 2, 3, Final Fantasies, Kingdom Hearts, Mass Effect 1, Torchlight, Risen, Elder Scrolls (Morrowind and Oblivion mostly), Baldur's Gates, Fate, Gothic, and a the list would be 3 pages long if I won't stop here.

But I am now, 100% honest, but Titan Quest has always been my favorite, and I hope only Grim Down will beat it. I have played it more than 200 hours, and now, when I at last joined this forum (has been reading it for very long time now), I am going to complete again. I just love the different places, and the graphics! I love history, and Greek, Egypt, and Silk Road... it's just a super pack, when there are religions, many types of different enemies, who perfectly fit to the place they are (crocodiles at Egypt, tigers at China). Titan Quest is so good, that I am afraid, is the Grim Dawn going to be better, but after seeing those pictures, and because it's made by Iron Lore's veterans, I am sure I am going to buy it!

And yes, my English is poor, but I am learning more all the time! I am probably going to buy Legendary Fan Edition so support the team, and I would like to be a part of this great community :)

Yea, TQ really was a lost jewel. Though just the fact that they've implemented gore in Grim Dawn makes me happy enough :D

Welcome to the community! And a nice sig you have there.

Yeah, the only things at Titan Quest I didn't like was that sound actor with the old man at Egypt (this man was shaking, old, and very lean) which voice was like a war hero, very deep and young, and this gore thing. I like the style of Grim Dawn, it's like umm... post-apocalyptic?

It appears to be modelled after a post-apocalyptic victorian setting. Ofcourse it takes place on a planet different from earth, so the devs have some creative freedom in constructing their own world.

Heipähei.

I'm going to loan your thread to add my greetings - especially to the former IL and the TQ community - from North Karelia. :)

An introduction, eh? I love the Action RPG genre. I started with Diablo 2 and have gone through several, like Mythos, Dungeon Siege 2, Divine Divinity and Torchlight - each of which I liked. Titan Quest is one of the very rare (non-"must own the legit game to play online" e.g. TF2/D2/WoW) games I've actually bought, pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition back in the day after thoroughly enjoying the demo. That was money well spent with all the hours in, and for me TQ remains as one of those special games that you want to get back to after some months.

I was very pleased to learn about Grim Dawn after surfing around on TitanQuest.net. I can't say I prefer the dark, gloomy theme over the mythology (especially Greek parts of it) one - but as long as you're using the same engine and upgrading the mechanics it's all OK, good lore can make me love the world. Hopefully the developer team remembers that careful polishing equals a great game and that at least better balancing would be expected (resources allowing, of course, because that was one of the main problems of TQ).

If only Grim Dawn was able to fix the biggest lack of TQ - multiplayer.. A proper, closed system. I wouldn't have kept playing D2 for all the hours I have (many, many hundreds) if it wasn't for closed Battle.net ladders. Open implementation of the multiplayer portion just kills the replayability for me. It allows cheating and removes the feeling of balance. That would certainly lessen the impact of piracy and bring in new players as well, if you'd require a valid CD-key to play online and the online services were worth the price.

Although I realise being a small team doing a small budget project limits doing things like that, one can always dream, right? :)
